How to win: Player with the most points wins
Point System:
- Pairs: 1 point
- Highest face card pair: 2 points
- First person to receive 7 card hand: 2 points
Play Log Session 1:
- The first prototyping of the game began with a more poker style game that involved knowing all the poker hands like a straight, flush, full house, etc with various points for each hand. The objective of the game is to have best 5 card hand. The twist to the game is that players draw from the remain deck and choose which cards to keep or pass over to the next player, after ten cards are dealt, players show their five hand card.
Play Log Session 2:
- Second play log came with massive revisions in the game. The point system is simplified to just a straight hand and pairs. I decided to remove passing cards to the next player with a drawing/burning cards so the game is less rigged. Players instead burn a card first before drawing a card. The game overall is simplified to remember a basic straight hand so it is easier for players to understand. The objective of the game is also changed from various poker hands to a straight hand and one face card pair. A rule added to the gam was that players are able to drop their pairs any time that they want, but once informally before the game starts.
Play Log session 3:
The last play session came with changes in how to end the game. To spice up the game, players are given the choice to prolong to gave if they do not want to show their seven card hand to gain more points. Instead of automatically ending the game after the draw pile is used up, the burn pile is then used as the draw pile to prolong the game. This allows for players to gain more points and the opportunity to gain their seven card hand to end the game formally.
